My Background
Ever since I was a little kid, I have always had a fascination with designing my own things. Between my box of legos waiting to be constructed, to going over to my grandmas house to paint with her, the idea of turning my ideas into something actually physical always interested me.
A few months ago, I worked at a retirement community in my hometown for around a year. While I was there, I got to spend time with the residents and listen to their stories and life experiences. Additionally, they would ask about my life and what I wanted to do once I got into college. They were curious about me and wanted nothing but success, which made me feel good inside. As the shifts would go by, I would listen closely to the residents and notice their unspoken needs, adjusting my serving patterns to account for their specific requirements. Not only did I learn how to adjust my own patterns, but I also learned how to emphasize and deeply connect with those who often felt left out, which ignited my interest in user experience. My main drive is to create designs that are coherent and improve the lives of all users.
Things I Love
Outside of UX, I enjoy going to the gym and tracking my progress. I find any form of exercise a good reset for my brain after working for many hours. I also play the bass guitar! I am not very good at it, but I do enjoy learning riffs of my favorite songs. Another hobby of mine is playing video games. It’s one of my favorite things to do and is something I will always love. If I were to pick my favorite, I would go with Minecraft!
